Long before she became vice president of corporate communications at up-and-coming gene therapy company Encoded Therapeutics, Lynnea Olivarez was a data-driven communications pro. We met her just after she became director of external affairs and communications at Intellia Therapeutics, a hot young CRISPR startup in Cambridge, MA. Right off the bat she ensured that they had a best-in-class communications measurement program. She was one of our first clients to integrate all aspects of communications into end-of-year reporting.
As proof that measurement-enabled decision making pays off, Lynnea was named one of PRNEWS’ Top Women in Communications in 2020.
After she moved across the country last year to head corporate communication at Encoded Therapeutics, she continued to insist on having the right data to make better decisions. Today her metrics are tightly tied to corporate priorities and she tracks results against all of her efforts, internal as well as external, to ensure she has the data she needs to develop her plans.
Many communications professionals only pay attention to their metrics when they know they have to produce a report for senior leadership. Lynnea’s focus on measurement seldom wanes. For such continuous and consistent use of data-driven decision making, we name Lynnea Olivarez this month’s Measurement Maven. Congrats Lynnea! ∞
