Okay, that might be a bit hyperbolic but this episode of New Hampshire Public Radio’s excellent Stranglehold podcast that traces the history and reasons behind New Hampshire’s First in the Nation Primary reminded me of how research can really shape a conversation. Twenty-some years ago, my company The Delahaye Group was asked to help a group of prominent New Hampshire movers and shakers to put a value on the New Hampshire Primary.  Our research was later used to make the case to the legislature and other political leaders that our First in the Nation Status did bring considerable value to the state and was therefore worth supporting. And, as I write this, on the eve of the 100th New Hampshire Presidential Primary, I guess it worked.  Listen to the podcast to find out how we did it.
