In
general I hate pie. I make exceptions for my cousin Connie’s home made version when the berries come out of my garden, and Joyce Maynard’s peach version, because well, Joyce made it on her wedding day. However, when it comes to the mathematical Pi, ever since Mrs. Satterlee taught me about it in 7th grade at Nightingale, I’ve been enthralled. The concept of square roots blew my young mind.
I’m also a total romantic, and love love songs…So when I first heard my friend and amazing song writer Cormac McCarthy’s song “Easy as Pi,” how could I not adore it? In honor of Pi day, this is what will be on rotation in my house all day:
